Ruling Conservatives Set to Win Serbian Parliamentary Vote
Serbia’s ruling conservative party led by President Aleksandar Vucic is set for a landslide win in Sunday’s parliamentary election, results projected by Ipsos and CeSID pollsters showed.The projection shows the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) on track to win 62.5% of the votes, while the Socialist party, a junior coalition partner in the outgoing government, is seen coming in second with 10.7% of the votes.The center-right Serbian Patriotic Alliance led by former water polo player Aleksandar Sapic is seen in third place with 4% of the votes.A brass band orchestra at the SNS headquarters was playing traditional Serbian music before Vucic proclaimed victory.Dozens of smiling people crammed into a small room, hugged each other and few had their faces covered with masks, despite doctors warning to be cautious to avoid spreading the coronavirus.”Tonight people showed enormous trust in our team,” Vucic told journalists. “Serbian people have decided what kind of future they want.”Another Serbian pollster CRTA saw turnout at 48% compared to 56.7% in 2016. The State Election Commission is to announce preliminary results including turnout later in the evening.Turnout was hit by a boycott by some opposition parties, who say the vote will not be free or fair owing to Vucic’s grip on the media.Florian Bieber, a Balkan expert at Austria’s University of Graz, tweeted after seeing results: “It is a pyrrhic victory, without opposition in parliament the election is discredited and its rule less legitimate than ever before.”Voters largely back efforts by Vucic’s ruling coalition to push for Serbian membership of the European Union while maintaining strong ties with Russia and China.But the future government will face increasing EU and U.S. pressure to recognize the independence of Serbia’s former province of Kosovo, a move seen as key for regional stability.Serbia, which has a population of 7.2 million, has reported 12,894 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 261 deaths. It was among the first European countries to start opening its borders on May 22 and all lockdown curbs have since been lifted.Analysts and pollsters said that health concerns kept some voters at home, especially among higher-risk groups. About 1.2 million people on the electoral list have lived abroad for years and are unlikely to vote.”If we take into account number of votes (the SNS got) … we are heading to a North Korean or Chinese system,” said Slobodan Zecevic, a lecturer of international law with the Belgrade-based European University.

Президент України Володимир Зеленський в інтерв’ю канадському виданню The Globe and Mail не відповів на питання, чи підтримала Україна Канаду на виборах до Ради безпеки ООН.
«Україна завжди підтримувала і продовжить підтримувати Канаду. Про голосування і виборчий процес в Організації Об’єднаних Націй я не хочу говорити, тому що це конфіденційна інформація. Я знаю, що Канада дуже хотіла бути обраною і бути в Раді безпеки ООН. Що ж, цього разу цього не трапилося, але це важливо для Канади і важливо для України, тому що успіх Канади – це успіх України», – сказав Зеленський.
Він також не відповів на питання про чутки, нібито Україна пообіцяла свої голоси Норвегії й Ірландії – ще до того, як Канада почала свою кампанію.

В Україні чоловіки найчастіше стають батьками у віці 30-39 років – Держстат
В Україні чоловіки найчастіше стають батьками у віці 30-39 років, повідомила Державна служба статистики в День батька.
У 2019 році у чоловіків цього віку народилися 135 167 дітей. Ще 108 080 дітей народилося в чоловіків у віці 20-29 років. На третьому місці йде вікова категорії «40-49 років» (26 999 дітей).
Майже 2 800 дітей народилися в чоловіків віком від 50 років.
У 2020 році в Україні вдруге офіційно святкують День батька. Це міжнародне свято відзначають щороку в третю неділю червня.

The coronavirus pandemic has prevented druids, pagans and party-goers from watching the sun rise at Stonehenge to mark the summer solstice this year.The ancient stone circle in southwestern England usually draws thousands of people to mark the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. But Britain has banned mass gatherings as part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.English Heritage, the body that oversees Stonehenge, livestreamed the sunrise instead. Russia’s Putin Says He May Seek Another Term If Constitutional Changes Passed
Vladimir Putin is considering running for a new term as Russia’s president if voters approve constitutional changes that would enable him to do so, Russian news agencies quoted him as saying in an interview on Sunday.Russia will hold a nationwide vote from June 25 to July 1 on proposed changes to the constitution, including an amendment that would allow Putin to seek two more six-year terms as president when his current mandate ends in 2024.Opponents say the reforms are designed to allow Putin to keep power until 2036 and amount to a constitutional coup. The Kremlin says they are needed to strengthen the role of parliament and improve social policy and public administration.”I do not rule out the possibility of running for office, if this (option) comes up in the constitution. We’ll see,” Putin was quoted as saying in an interview with state TV that was shown in Russia’s far east before airing in western Russia. “I have not decided anything for myself yet.”The changes that Russians will vote on, already approved by parliament and the Constitutional Court, would reset Putin’s presidential term tally to zero. У «Київгазі» прокоментували вибух у житловому будинку
Працівники «Київгазу» оперативно перекрили постачання газу до будинку в Дарницькому районі столиці після вибуху, повідомили в компанії 21 червня.
«Бригада аварійної служби 104 виїхала негайно. Наші працівники оперативно перекрили постачання газу до будинку», – йдеться в заяві.

Газорозподільна компанія наразі не називає конкретних причин вибуху. Зараз, за даними «Київгазу», на місці працюють рятувальники Державна служба з надзвичайних ситуацій, які розбирають завали.
«Затим на місці працюватиме експертна комісія. Причина цієї надзвичайної ситуації буде відома після заключень комісії», – повідомляють у пресслужбі.
Раніше пресофіцер ДСНС Олександр Хорунжий, спілкуючись із журналістами, послався на те, що висновків «Київгазу» щодо причин вибуху наразі немає.
Міністерство внутрішніх справ повідомило, що поліція розглядає дві версії причин вибуху в житловому будинку в Києві.
Вранці 21 червня в дев’ятиповерховому житловому будинку в Дарницькому районі Києва стався вибух, який спричинив руйнування кількох поверхів. Наразі відомо про щонайменше одну загиблу людину, деякі офіційні джерела повідомляють про двох.

Аваков заявляє про обшуки в газорозподільній компанії, яка обслуговувала пошкоджений вибухом будинок
Поліція здійснює обшуки в газорозподільній компанії, що обслуговує будинок, де стався вибух вранці 21 червня. Про це повідомляє пресслужба Міністра внутрішніх справ із посиланням на його голову Арсена Авакова.
«Національна поліція України наразі проводить невідкладні обшуки в газорозподільній компанії та всіх комунальних службах, які обслуговували будинок, де стався вибух», – йдеться в повідомленні.
Крім того, Аваков повідомив, що зараз триває експертиза стану будівлі на предмет подальшого руйнування.
«Після отримання експертного висновку ми зможемо дати доступ людям до їх квартир, аби вони взяли з собою найнеобхідніші речі. Буде цілодобове оточення поліцейських та гвардійців для захисту від мародерів», – заявляє він.
За даними МВС, на місці події наразі працює близько 500 правоохоронців.

Serbia Holds Parliamentary and Local Elections
Serbia is holding parliamentary and local elections Sunday expected to consolidate President Aleksandar Vucic’s ruling Serbian Progressive Party’s power.The opposition is partially boycotting the vote.”I fulfilled my citizen’s duty and that’s why I came to vote,” said Miroslav Krstic, a resident of Belgrade. “I think that is every citizen’s duty. But what I see is that we are divided.”The elections, initially scheduled for April, were postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but lockdown rules have now been completely relaxed and people are optimistic about what lies ahead.”I expect it to be far better, for Serbia to develop more economically,” said Petar Momcilovic, a Belgrade resident. “A lot has been done but I expect much more.”About 6.6 million voters are eligible to cast ballots for the 250 seats of the country’s parliament and for local governing bodies.Vucic’s party appears set for a landslide victory since it is facing a divided opposition.Several main opposition parties are boycotting the vote, claiming lack of free and fair conditions and accusing Vucic of dominating the election campaign on the mainstream media through his control. Vucic has denied the accusations.However, some smaller groups have decided to participate, saying the boycott would only help Vucic’s party.

Україна відзначає День батька та День медичного працівника
В Україні вдруге офіційно святкують День батька. Це міжнародне свято відзначають щороку в третю неділю червня.
Згідно з указом про затвердження цієї дати, День батька має на меті сприяти «розвитку сім’ї як основи суспільства і підвищенню статусу чоловіка як батька в процесі виховання дітей».

Крім того, в Україні в третю неділю червня відзначають День медичного працівника. Зі святом лікарів привітали президент Володимир Зеленський та прем’єр-міністр Денис Шмигаль. Останній зазначив, що майже 7 тисяч медичних працівників бере участь у боротьбі з коронавірусною пандемією.
«Держава сьогодні у великому боргу перед своїми медиками і робить все, щоб їх підтримати. Ми хочемо, щоб наші медики почувалися справді захищеними і їхня робота була не лише почесною, але й добре оплачуваною», – сказав він у відеозверненні.
Уряд 8 травня 2018 року схвалив указ про офіційне святкування Дня батька. До того свято відзначали неформально.

Верещук: Зеленський не тисне на парламент щодо голосування за Шкарлета
Верховна Рада не відчуває тиску президента Володимира Зеленського щодо голосування за кандидатуру Сергія Шкарлета на посаду міністра освіти і науки, заявила в інтерв’ю Радіо Свобода депутатка від «Слуги народу» Ірина Верещук.
Вона зазначила, що сама «не готова» голосувати за Шкарлета, хоча коментувати його біографію не стала.
«Немає ніякого тиску. Якби тиск… Ми вже три місяці шукаємо міністра. Ні. Президент сказав, що він за те, щоб ми проголосували. Але ніякого тиску, жодного немає. Якби був тиск, то ви ж розумієте, це вже давно стало би відомо», – сказала Верещук.
За її словами, комітет з питань освіти науки та інновацій розглядав «не одну кандидатуру», в тому числі жінку-претендентку, однак імен вона не назвала.
«Поки що зупинилися на панові ректорові з Чернігова. Не знаю, чому. Але такий вибір поки що є», – додала парламентарка.
Вона пояснила, що для неї важливо, аби парламент не ніс згодом віповідальність за звинувачення в плагіаті, які лунають на адресу Шкарлета. Сам кандидат у міністри їх відкидає.

«То давайте тоді покажемо офіційно, що плагіату немає. Ну, якщо є такі заперечення. Правильно? Бо кожен з нас, я особисто писала кандидатську дисертацію. Давайте тоді покажемо, що в мене є довідка, яку я проходила на плагіат перед тим, як захищати дисертацію. Хай покаже довідку, хай покаже і немає жодних питань», – запропонувала Верещук.
Водночас вона зазначає: чула про Шкарлета, «що він непоганий ректор, що він дійсно підняв свій університет».
Подання щодо кандидатури Сергія Шкарлета на посаду міністра освіти внесли до Верховної Ради 17 червня, однак 18 червня профільний комітет Верховної Ради не рекомендував його на посаду міністра освіти.
Попри це, 19 червня голова фракції «Слуга народу» Давид Арахамія заявив у коментарі Радіо Свобода, що Шкарлета можуть призначити тимасовим виконувачем обов’язків міністра – для цього не потрібне погодження парламенту.

ООС: бойовики вчора стріляли 28 разів, зранку – чотири рази, один військовий поранений
З початку поточної доби штаб Операції об’єднаних сил зафіксував чотири обстріли з боку гібридних російських сил: в районі Шумів, Залізного (із використанням мінометів) та Кримського – із застосуванням мінометів та станкових протитанкових гранатометів. Внаслідок обстрілів один український військовий отримав поранення.
За попередню добу, за даними штабу, бойовики 28 разів порушили режим припинення вогню в зоні бойових дій на Донбасі.

Наперередодні вже стало відомо, що троє українських військових внаслідок цього отримали поранення.
«Противник обстріляв наші позиції із заборонених Мінськими домовленостями артилерійських систем калібру 152 міліметри і 122 міліметри, 120-ти та 82-міліметрових мінометів, а також некерованих авіаційних ракет, озброєння БМП, гранатометів різних систем, великокаліберних кулеметів і стрілецької зброї. Українські воїни негайно відреагували на усі можливі загрози з боку загарбників та змусили їх припинити свої агресивні дії», – йдеться в повідомленні.
Згідно зі зведенням, в районі оперативно-тактичного угруповання «Північ» обстріли фіксували неподалік Хутора Вільного, Новоолександрівки, Шумів, Троїцького, Золотого-4, Оріхового, Попасної, Новозванівки, Луганського, Новотошківського, Кримського та Залізного.
«В районі відповідальності оперативно-тактичного угруповання «Схід» ворог відкривав вогонь з мінометів калібру 82 міліметри на підступах до Авдіївки і Широкиного. Декілька разів із цілого спектру піхотного озброєння противник обстрілював наші опорні пункти неподалік Павлополя. Також біля цього населеного пункту загарбники застосували некеровані авіаційні ракети С-8», – повідомляє штаб.
Незаконні збройні угруповання «ДНР» та «ЛНР», своєю чергою, звинувачують Збройні сили України в обстрілі окупованих ними територій 20 червня.
На лінії фронту теоретично чинне чергове перемир’я, що, як і попередні, було проголошене як всеосяжне, безумовне, стале і безстрокове. Та, як і всі попередні, воно було порушене майже відразу після заявленого початку і відтоді порушується постійно.
Збройний конфлікт на Донбасі триває від 2014 року після російської окупації Криму. Україна і Захід звинувачують Росію у збройній підтримці бойовиків. Кремль відкидає ці звинувачення і заявляє, що на Донбасі можуть перебувати хіба що російські «добровольці».
За даними ООН, від березня 2014-го до 31 жовтня 2019 року внаслідок збройного конфлікту на Донбасі загинули від 13 000 до 13 200 людей (цивільних і комбатантів).

UK to Announce New ‘One Meter Plus’ Social Distancing Rule, Report Says
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce a new “one meter plus” social distancing rule to reopen the United Kingdom, the Daily Telegraph newspaper reported late on Saturday.The announcement, to be made on Tuesday, will apply to all venues including offices, schools and pubs, the paper reported, adding that it will take effect from July 4.The move will allow people to remain a meter away from others if they take additional measures to protect themselves, such as wearing a mask, according to the report.Earlier on Saturday, culture minister Oliver Dowden said that Britain’s government will announce in the coming days whether it will reduce its two-meter social distancing rule for England.

3 Die in Stabbing Attack in English Town of Reading, Reports Say
Three people were killed in a stabbing attack in a park in the southern English town of Reading on Saturday and broadcaster Sky News said police were treating the incident as terrorism-related.Police said they arrested a man at the scene. They did not confirm whether anybody had died but the Telegraph newspaper, the BBC and Sky News said three people had been killed.The leader of the local council authority said there had been fatalities, without saying how many. The ambulance service said it had treated “a number” of casualties but gave no further details.Two people were rushed to a hospital in the area, a spokesperson for the hospital said.A witness quoted by the Mirror newspaper said the man with a knife “shouted some unintelligible words” before stabbing people who had gathered in the park on a sunny summer evening in Reading, which is about 65 kilometers west of London.”My thoughts are with all of those affected by the appalling incident in Reading and my thanks to the emergency services on the scene,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.Video footage posted on Twitter showed paramedics rushing to help at least three people who were bleeding on the ground. Reuters was unable to verify the footage independently.Matt Rodda, a lawmaker who represents Reading in Britain’s parliament, said the park, located in a historic area of the town, was typically busy on a Saturday evening.”It’s used by people to sit and meet with friends and obviously at the moment people have been meeting there, observing social distancing, and just chatting to friends peacefully in a park,” Rodda told Sky News.”This incident happened in that kind of environment so it’s really quite deeply shocking for local people.”Current coronavirus restrictions mean venues like pubs are closed, so people in Britain gather in parks in the evenings to meet friends.The head of the local council authority in Reading, Jason Brock, said his thoughts were “with the families of all those who have died or have been injured.”The attack in Reading took place at the site of a Black Lives Matter anti-racism protest in the town earlier on Saturday but police said it did not appear to be connected.A BLM supporter said on Facebook that the stabbings occurred a few hours after the protest had ended and people who attended the demonstration were unharmed.Some 36 people were killed in four attacks in Britain blamed by authorities on terrorism in 2017, the most deadly of which occurred at the end of a concert by U.S. singer Ariana Grande in Manchester, northern England, with other attacks at London Bridge and near parliament.Last year the government downgraded the national terrorism threat level to “substantial,” meaning an attack is likely, from “severe.”

Депутати не підтримали програму дій уряду, бо «відчували недокомунікацію» – Верещук
Народні депутати не підтримали доопрацьовану програму дій уряду Дениса Шмигаля, бо відчували«недокомунікацію», заявила в інтерв’ю Радіо Свобода депутатка від «Слуги народу» Ірина Верещук.
«Я розумію пана Шмигаля. Був карантин. Ми ці місяці, а він вже три місяці на посаді, 100 днів, можна сказати, збіглося все, ми не зустрічалися так часто, як цього хотілося би. Напевне, депутати відчували якусь певну «недокомунікацію». Вони хотіли б взяти участь. Їх, наприклад, десь не дуже залучали до цього штабу, який був, антикризовий. І от десь ця «некомунікація» справила своє враження», – сказала Верещук.
Водночас вона висловила здивування тим, що депутати не підтримали програму уряду.
«Я трохи здивувалася. Тому що у нас вранці перед голосуванням була скайп-зустріч з президентом. Він, власне, виклав свої аргументи. Вони були для мене достатніми. Він дійсно сказав, що ми голосуємо цю програму не задля імунітету. Уряд не шукає імунітету. І справді, приклад уряду Гончарука доводить, що навіть якщо є проголосована програма і навіть якщо такий імунітет є закладений, можна позбутися посади достроково», – сказала депутатка.
За її словами, таке голосування непрямо вдарило і по президентові Володимиру Зеленському. При цьому Верещук заявила, що це не був вотум недовіри урядові.
«Я думаю, що осад легкий є, звичайно. Але я почула його (прем’єр-міністра Дениса Шмигаля – ред.) пряму мову відразу після провалення голосування. Я побачила, як він вийшов на подвір’я, його запитали журналісти. Він сказав: ми будемо працювати далі. Я побачила, що у нього здорові нерви, він розуміє, що так могло статися і так, на жаль, сталося. Я кажу, що я цього не хотіла. Хоча критикую програму і критикую пана Шмигаля, але хочу, щоб це все-таки було конструктивно. Ми – команда. Я голосувала за нього і підтримую його у будь-якому випадку», – сказала вона.
На засіданні 18 червня Верховна Рада не підтримала доопрацьовану програму дій уряду.
Це була друга спроба проголосувати за програму дій уряду, яку парламентарі провалили. Таким чином, Кабінет міністрів не отримав річний імунітет від відставки.

Turkey Seeks Diplomatic Gains After Risky Libya Military Intervention
Turkey is seeking to reap diplomatic rewards from its military success in Libya. Recent gains by Turkish-backed forces of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) are enhancing Ankara’s influence in Libya and with the European Union.Turkey sent military personnel to Libya in January to support the Tripoli-based GNA. It had been under sustained attack from forces led by Libyan General Khalif Haftar, who has a power base in eastern Libya. Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA) has the backing of countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Russia.
The Turkish military deployment to Libya, widely seen as a gamble by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, turned out to be a game changer in the civil war.

Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Hakan Fidan, the head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization, led a high-level delegation Wednesday to Tripoli, underlining the critical role Turkey is now playing in Libya. According to pro-government Turkish media reports, Ankara is looking to establish an air and naval base in Libya.
The Turkish government so far hasn’t officially commented on the news reports, but Ankara’s military presence in Libya could be a big bargaining chip with the European Union.
“Libya is so strategically important to the EU, as Libya is the gateway of Africa to Europe,” said retired Turkish ambassador to Qatar Mithat Rende.
The Libyan civil war’s chaos made the country one of the main smuggling routes for migrants trying to enter the EU.
Ankara already has a deal with the EU to prevent refugees and migrants from trying to enter through Turkey, in exchange for billions of dollars in aid.
Political science professor Ilhan Uzgel of Ankara University said Erdogan now sees an opportunity to extend Turkey’s role as the EU’s gatekeeper to Libya. Ankara has myriad issues it’s negotiating with Brussels in the renewal of a customs union on visa free travel.
“Turkey used the Syrian refugees as a bargaining chip against the EU, it was a policy of blackmail, and it worked somehow. Now with Libya, Turkey has a new card or leverage against the EU. So, they [the EU] may not be happy, but the EU is usually making a bargain with Turkey over the refugee issues,” said Uzgel.
Russia Looks to Washington for Help in Libya Russian FM Sergey Lavrov says he would welcome any efforts by Washington to use its influence on Turkey to help fashion a truce in LibyaFrance and Germany have sharply criticized Turkish military intervention in Libya, although with Germany taking over the EU presidency in July, German Chancellor Angela Merkel could be looking to Erdogan for a deal.
“Turkish military presence in Libya would strengthen its position vis-a-vis EU in general and Germany in particular,” said international relations expert Zaur Gasimov of Bonn University.
“The fears of more influx of refugees have never been stronger than now in Europe, already heavily challenged by the [coronavirus] pandemic and economic recession,” he added.
Merkel spoke by telephone with Erdogan this month about Libya. Friday, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio flew to Ankara for talks with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, on stabilizing the North African country.
“They [the EU] don’t like his [Erdogan’s] personality; they don’t respect him. But they know that he can make a deal, and he keeps his promises in a way,” Uzgel said.
In the U.S., the Trump Administration also could see Ankara as a partner in Libya.
“Turkey and the U.S. can together make a positive difference [in Libya],” Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said Friday.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Erdogan agreed this month to cooperate on Libya, although the nature of the cooperation remains unclear.
Also this month, the U.S. military accused Russia of seeking to push for a strategic foothold on NATO’s southern flank at the expense of innocent Libyan lives. Moscow is a key backer of Haftar, although it denies any military involvement. But Turkey’s Libya military intervention is seen as thwarting Russian ambitions.
A meeting between Russian and Turkish foreign ministers called by Russia for June 14 to discuss Libya was canceled.
“The cancelation came from Turkey,” Uzgel said. ” It’s the rule of any conflict it’s usually the losing side who asks for a cease-fire. Turkey does not want to stop in Libya.”
Moscow, however, is accused of establishing a substantial military presence in Libya. On Thursday, the U.S. Africa Command published what it said were new images of Russian warplanes in Libya.
“Russia has sent its military jets to Libya, but we have not heard they had used their jets effectively against GNA forces. It could have been used effectively because [Turkish] drones are no match against fighter jets. But they haven’t been used. It appears more like symbolic importance; it’s more of a bluff than a tool in a fight” said Uzgel.
Moscow may be reluctant to risk its relations with Turkey, which have markedly improved in the past few years, much to the alarm of Turkey’s NATO partners. The two countries have strong trade ties and are cooperating in the Syrian civil war, despite backing rival sides in the conflict. Turkey, Russia and Iran are part of the Astana Process, which is seeking to end the conflict. While Moscow and Ankara struck an agreement to enforce a cease-fire in Afrin, the last rebel-controlled region.
Observers say that despite Turkey’s success in Libya, it still needs to handle Moscow with care. Russia can undermine Turkey’s efforts to stabilize Libya or push back against Turkish interests elsewhere.
However, Gasimov believes pragmatism is likely to prevail.
“Turkey and Russia would highly likely manage a deal in Libya, as they did in Syria, and indeed the Libyan antagonism would even bond them closer,” he said.
Gasimov said Russia could be accommodating to Turkey’s demand to end Haftar’s leadership role, as part of any Libyan deal.
“The Russian position is heterogeneous and dynamic. Haftar, who studied in the U.S.S.R., is not seen any more as the only key factor for Russia’s presence in Libya. Moscow is searching for alternatives,” he said.
Any Russian deal, though, is likely to be limited by Turkey’s desire to work with its Western allies in Libya.
“Ankara can make a deal with Moscow but on its terms,” said Uzgel. “They may be a short-term limited deal with Russia. Anything more and the EU would not be happy or the United States. There may be a temporary small-scale deal with Russia.”

Зеленський не переслідує Порошенка – депутатка зі «Слуги народу»
Президент Володимир Зеленський і владна фракція «Слуга народу» не хочуть політично тиснути на п’ятого президента, народного депутата «Європейської солідарності» Петра Порошенка, заявила в інтерв’ю Радіо Свобода депутатка від «Слуги народу» Ірина Верещук.
За її словами, президент Зеленський не переслідує свого попередника, хоча з погляду західних партнерів, які застерегли українську владу від вибіркового правосуддя, це може виглядати як політичний тиск.
«Точно не ставимо за мету тиснути. Це може бути ексцес виконавця, коли правоохоронна система не здатна поборотися з юристами Порошенка, яких у нього чимало. Він може собі їх дозволити. Тут можуть бути й інші. Наприклад, правоохоронна система не хоче боротися з п’ятим президентом Порошенком в силу того, що, можливо, все зміниться. У нас часто буває, що і ті, що були в опозиції, стають знову владою. Я не знаю, що у них в головах. Але тим не менше, я точно знаю, що президент Зеленський не переслідує п’ятого президента Порошенка», – сказала Верещук.
Представнки Заходу раніше висловили занепокоєння через кримінальні справи проти колишнього президента України Петра Порошенка.
Зокрема, посольство США в Україні наголосило, що «система правосуддя не повинна використовуватися для зведення політичних рахунків».
«Правосуддя в Україні має здійснюватися неупереджено та незалежно. Це має вирішальне значення для нашої спільної мети – більш безпечного і процвітаючого майбутнього України», – написала у своєму твіттері Мелінда Сіммонс, посол Великої Британії в Україні.
Колишній голова Європейської раді Дональд Туск заявив, що «дуже стурбований» політичними справами проти колишнього президента Порошенка. «Звинувачення не повинні ані нагадувати політично вмотивоване переслідування, ані бути політично вмотивованими проти окремих політичних опонентів», – цитує Туска Financial Times.
«Пильно стежити» за перебігом справ проти Порошенка обіцяли і в Європарламенті.
У справі, в якій Державне бюро розслідувань вручило Порошенкові підозру, слідство заявляє про те, що в 2018 році він нібито «схилив» голову Служби зовнішньої розвідки (в той час її очолював Єгор Божок – ред.) до перевищення службових повноважень.
Один із адвокатів Порошенка Ілля Новіков припустив, що може йтися про підозру через призначення першого заступника голови Служби зовнішньої розвідки Сергія Семочка.
Генеральний прокурор України Ірина Венедіктова заявила, що звинувачення п’ятого президента України, народного депутата Петра Порошенка в схилянні голови Служби зовнішньої розвідки до перевищення влади не є політичним переслідуванням.

654 випускники Львівської академії Сухопутних військ отримали звання лейтенантів
Сьогодні у Міжнародному центрі миротворчості та безпеки відбувся урочистий випуск офіцерів Збройних Сил України Національної академії сухопутних військ імені гетьмана Петра Сагайдачного. Про це повідомляє кореспондент Радіо Свобода.
Урочисту подію провели на військовому полігоні через карантин, з дотриманням усіх заходів безпеки. Батьки і друзі могли дивитись церемонію в онлайн.
Вперше за останні роки така велика кількість – 654 курсанти – отримали дипломи і звання лейтенантів. Серед випускників Національної академії 131 учасник бойових дій.
«Збройні сили України очікують від вас високого професіоналізму, компетентності, стійкості, лідерських якостей. Відтепер на вас покладена відповідальність за ефективне керівництво підрозділами, за вирішення бойових задач, за життя підлеглих», – звернувся до випускників начальник академії Сухопутних військ, генерал Павло Ткачук.
Під час церемонії найкращому лейтенантові вручили пірнач – бойову зброю українських козаків, як символ відповідальності перед колегами, народом і Україною.
У церемонії випуску взяли участь прем’єр міністр України Денис Шмигаль, представники країн НАТО, які з місією перебувають в Україні.

Зеленський припинив повноваження Єрмака у наглядовій раді «Укроборонпрому»
Президент України Володимир Зеленський припинив повноваження члена наглядової ради «Укроборонпрому» Андрія Єрмака, який також очолює Офіс президента. Відповідний указ оприлюднено на сайті ОП.
Тим же указом президент призначив членом наглядової ради першого віцепрезидента Національної академії наук України Володимира Горбуліна.
«Для мене це не формальність, а велика відповідальність. Майбутнє України – у демократії та незалежності, заснованих на глибоко продуманій політиці військово-промислового будівництва та високих технологій, які – я вірю і знаю – Україна все ще здатна виробляти», – цитує Горбуліна пресслужба «Укроборонпрому».

Education Minister: Britain Should be ‘Incredibly Proud’ of its History
Britain’s education minister said the county should be “incredibly proud” of its history and that should be reflected in the program of study at schools.Speaking to reporters on Friday during the government’s daily briefing on COVID-19, Gavin Williamson said students need to learn about both the positive and negative aspects of the British Empire.“We mustn’t forget that in this nation we have an incredibly rich history, and we should be incredibly proud of our history, because time and time and time again, this country has made a difference and changed things for the better, right around the world,” he said. “And we should, as a nation, be proud of that history and teach our children about it.”Williamson also said “tolerance and respect’’ must be “at the cornerstone” of all British schools.”Tolerance and respect have to be and, I believe are, at the cornerstone of absolutely everything that this country does and teaches in all of our schools, in all of our colleges and in all of our universities, and that’s how it should be,” he said. “And that is what I want to see everyone teaching in schools right across the United Kingdom and in England.’’Williamson’s comments came in the wake of the Black Lives Matter demonstrations in many parts of the world following the death of George Floyd, an African American, while in police custody.

EU Leaders Discuss $840B ‘Next Generation EU’ Initiative for COVID Recovery

‘Journalism is Still my World’ Says Syrian Who Found Refuge in Spain
Rajaai Bourhan is trying to make a life for himself in Spain.Two years ago, he and several other journalists were trapped in southern Syria, as forces loyal to President Bashar Assad moved to take the region. They had a choice: Stay and risk arrest or death or leave in search of safety. Thanks to the help of international organizations, including the press freedom group Committee to Protect Journalists and the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression, 11 journalists were able to flee to Europe last May. “It’s like traveling from planet to planet,” Bourhan told VOA. “Everybody’s nice, as well as smiling. It’s very different from my home.”The Syrians’ experiences are shared in a documentary, “The Last Journalists in Syria,” that CPJ broadcast on June 17.The documentary recounts how CPJ worked with United Nations ambassadors and several countries to find a way to bring the journalists and their families to safety. Bourhan said he was happy to be safe but that he’s had trouble finding a job – an issue that is common for refugee journalists. Only a third of journalists forced to flee are able to continue their work in a new country, Ignacio Miguel Delgado Culebras, the Middle East and North Africa Representative for CPJ, who helped with the relocation of the journalists, told VOA.He attributed that to factors including language and a lack of connections to news outlets.In the Syrians’ case, the Spanish journalism advocacy organization porCausa connected those who settled in Spain to other journalists in the country and found them a place to live, the group’s journalism coordinator Jose Bautista told VOA.“We try to make their lives a little bit easy,” Bautista said. “They’re already our friends, they’re like brothers.”Delgado said that since relocating, most have had work published in Spanish news outlets or other publications, including The Independent. CPJ is working with Global Voices, an international journalism collective, to run a workshop with the journalists this month to help with decisions about their careers.Bourhan acknowledged the difficulties in staying in journalism, including low pay and having to learn Spanish in a short amount of time. At the moment, he is not working full time — something he attributed in part to the coronavirus pandemic — and he said some of the other journalists have had to wash dishes to earn money.“It’s very hard for a journalist to survive here in Spain,” he said.He and the other journalists experienced many challenges in Syria. They watched as forces led by Assad bombed buildings and killed civilians. They posted videos and updates from their social media pages and were threatened with arrest and murder, one of the journalists, Moussa al-Jamaat, said in CPJ’s documentary.Syria in one of the most dangerous countries in the world for the media, with at least 137 journalists killed there since the start of the civil war in 2011, according to CPJ. Now in Spain, the journalists have greater protections. They remain committed to continue telling the stories of what is happening in Syria. Some have freelanced for large publications. “I didn’t just come to Europe to indulge life,” journalist Mohammad Shubaat said in the documentary, translated from Arabic. “My purpose here is to convey the real events unfolding in Syria through our social networks, Spanish TV, newspapers — by any means that we can convey our voice and our pain and the pain of our people.”Bourhan said he is also committed to informing others about what is happening in Syria. When he lived there, he freelanced for The Intercept. Now, he continues to read news from Syria every day and hasn’t given up on reporting. “Journalism is still my world,” he told VOA. “I really couldn’t get out of Syria mentally. My mind’s still in Syria.”CPJ’s Delgado said he was impressed with how quickly the journalists integrated into Spanish society and by their commitment to journalism.“This human quality that they have, it’s amazing. The desire to continue to learn, to develop their skills,” Delgado said. “I’m still in awe by what they have done not only in Syria, taking the risk of being a journalist, which is not easy. But also, now in Spain in a whole different context.”PorCausa’s Bautista said: “At the beginning, I thought they would learn a lot from us today. Today, I think we learned much more from them,” he said. “I am super proud of the way they are fighting such a difficult situation.”

«Укрзалізниця» відновлює курсування ще 50 електричок
«Укрзалізниця» (УЗ) повідомляє про відновлення курсування ще 50 приміських поїздів.
«Так, з 23 червня розпочнеться курсування ще 27 приміських поїздів по регіональній філії «Південно-Західна залізниця» та з 24 червня — 23 поїздів по філії «Південна залізниця», – йдеться в повідомленні.
В «Укрзалізниці» вкотре закликали пасажирів виконувати рекомендації під час проїзду залізничним транспортом, зокрема, дотримуватися соціальної дистанції, вдягати маску, а в разі виявлення симптомів гострої респіраторної хвороби залишатися вдома.
За даними УЗ, на сьогодні по території України курсує 553 приміські поїзди. З урахуванням вищевказаних поїздів 24 червня їх кількість складе 603.
Про перший етап відновлення курсування приміських поїздів після карантинних заходів, запроваджених у березні, «Укрзалізниця» повідомила 1 червня.

Аеропорти Львова і Харкова почали відновлювати міжнародні рейси
Міжнародні аеропорти Львова і Харкова почали відновлювати міжнародне авіасполучення.
«Сьогодні аеропорт Львова приймає і відправляє перші рейси після відновлення регулярного пасажирського авіасполучення за напрямками Львів-Берлін, Дортмунд-Львів, Львів-Дортмунд та Берлін-Львів. Авіація потроху починає відновлюватися і це не може не тішити», – написав у телеграмі міністр інфраструктури Владислав Криклій.
Тим часом, в аеропорту Харкова повідомили, що о 00:15 19 червня прийняли перший міжнародний рейс після перерви, пов’язаної з карантином. Це був рейс із Мінська. Назад літак вирушив о 5:35.
Як повідомила пресслужба аеропорту, авіакомпанія Belavia відновила регулярне авіасполучення Харків-Мінськ, і тепер перельоти за цим напрямком виконуватимуться двічі на тиждень – щопонеділка і щоп’ятниці. З 4 липня додадуться суботні вильоти.
Крім того, о 21:50 19 червня аеропорт також прийме рейс Будапешт-Харків від авіакомпанії Wizz Air. Назад до Угорщини літак вилетить о 22:20. З цього дня рейси до Будапешта виконуватимуться щопонеділка та щоп’ятниці.
В Україні з 15 червня відновилося міжнародне регулярне пасажирське авіасполучення після кількох місяців перерви, пов’язаної з карантином, запровадженим через поширення коронавірусу.
